SHARP

Sexual Health and Adolescent Risk Prevention

Sexual Health and Adolescent Risk Prevention (SHARP) is an intensive, interactive four-session intervention usually implemented weekly for one hour. The intervention incorporates videos, lecture, group discussion and activities to encourage a healthy mindset around sex, relationships, and other issues affecting our youth today. The SHARP intervention is appropriate for young men and women aged 14-21. Overall SHARP program goals are to deepen STI/HIV knowledge, improve correct condom use, and identify and offer suggestions to harm reduction involving sex, marijuana and alcohol. SHARP participants learn to set long-term goals and how to apply the knowledge and skills learned during the sessions to their own lives.
